On 19 January 2023, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki ↗ and the Panhellenic Association of Translators ↗ hosted a career-focused event for translation students. OMADA’s Managing Director, Dimitris Moutafis, discussed how translators can present their skills and experience in a CV and prepare for the realities of professional work.

From studies to professional practice

A useful translator’s CV shows language directions, subject areas, relevant training, tools and examples of work clearly. It helps a prospective client or employer understand where the translator can contribute, rather than simply listing every course or task.

Anastasia Giagkopoulou, then Secretary General of the Panhellenic Association of Translators, also spoke about digital presence: how a website, professional profiles and online networking can help translators make their expertise visible.

For students, the event connected academic learning with day-to-day choices about specialization, professional presentation and relationships in the language industry. You can read more about the team behind OMADA on our About OMADA page.
