OMADA an official IT partner for TermNet

As a leading IT solutions provider, our company is proud to have been chosen as TermNet’s IT partner for their node IT administration for the Eurotermbank Terminology European Project. This project is aimed at standardizing and harmonizing terminology across different languages and domains, with the ultimate goal of facilitating communication and enhancing knowledge exchange between countries and cultures.

In the context of the Eurotermbank project, a node refers to a specialized database that contains terminological entries in a specific language or domain. These nodes are operated by various organizations and institutions that have expertise in terminology management and are committed to contributing to the Eurotermbank database. A Eurotermbank node may contain terminological entries in one or more languages, depending on the needs and priorities of the organization or institution operating it. The nodes are connected to the central Eurotermbank database, which allows for the exchange and sharing of terminological data across different nodes and languages.

At the heart of this project is TermNet, a Vienna-based organization that has been at the forefront of terminology management for over 30 years. TermNet is the owner of one of the nodes of the Eurotermbank database, which currently contains over 1.3 million terminological entries in 25 languages, covering a wide range of domains such as IT, medicine, law, and finance.

As a node IT administrator, our role is to provide technical support and maintenance for the Eurotermbank node operated by TermNet. This involves ensuring that the node’s hardware and software are up-to-date and functioning properly, as well as troubleshooting any issues that may arise.

We will also work closely with TermNet to develop and implement new features and functionalities for the Eurotermbank platform, based on feedback from users and stakeholders. This may involve integrating new data sources, improving search algorithms, or enhancing the user interface to make it more intuitive and user-friendly.

One of the key benefits of participating in the Eurotermbank project is the opportunity to collaborate with other organizations and experts in the field of terminology management. Through our involvement in this project, we will been able to exchange knowledge and best practices with other IT administrators, terminology experts, and language professionals from around Europe and beyond.

We also hope gain valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities associated with terminology management in different domains and languages. This will enable us to develop new tools and methodologies for managing and standardizing terminology, which we can apply to other projects and clients in the future.

By contributing to the Eurotermbank project through the operation of a node, organizations and institutions can play an important role in promoting standardization and harmonization of terminology across languages and domains. This can help to facilitate communication and enhance knowledge exchange between countries and cultures, ultimately promoting greater understanding and collaboration.

We are hopeful that our participation in the Eurotermbank project as a node IT administrator for TermNet will be a rewarding and enriching experience, both for our company and for the wider community of terminology professionals.
