A trusted language services provider since 1991

In the early ’90s, the founders of OMADA perceived a need in the market for dedicated firms capable of undertaking EU translation tasks. They saw the importance of accuracy, timeliness, and quality. Thus, in 1991, OMADA was born with a modest aim: to support the European Commission with dedicated EU-to-Greek language services.

Starting with minimal resources in Athens, OMADA gradually expanded its capabilities and now offers services in over 100 languages, thanks to the trust and support of our clients.

From its inception until 2014, OMADA, collaborating within a European consortium of language firms, had the privilege of being entrusted with several EU and Greek translation projects. Some of these included translating foundational documents for the EC, partnering with local organizations like ELOT, and working alongside the Hellenic Society for Terminology for specific linguistic projects, such as the one for IATE.

With an earnest desire to meet industry standards, OMADA adopted key language quality benchmarks, including the EN 15038. Today, our efforts towards quality are reflected in our ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 17100:2015 certifications. In our pursuit of continuous improvement, we introduced a linguistic skills evaluation method in the ’90s. This has been regularly updated to serve the varied needs of our Greek and international clientele better.

In 2015, Dimitris Moutafis joined OMADA as Managing Director; we continued our journey, focusing on evolving, learning, and upholding OMADA’s commitment to its clients. Our vision is simple: better serve our clients in Greece and Europe, form genuine partnerships, and stay attuned to the evolving needs of our customers.

By 2023, we felt the time was right for a gentle refresh, leading to OMADA’s rebranding. This change, more than just a visual update, signifies our growth and commitment to bridging the linguistic and digital divide. Our aim remains to be supportive, adaptive, and responsive to the needs of modern businesses.

Currently, OMADA is a collaborative online community of dedicated linguists and experts from all around Europe. Our mission remains clear: to help clients with their linguistic and digital challenges. As we grow, we are grateful for every opportunity to serve our clients, be they in Greece or further afield.
